Quick Snaps for Memories Sake

Buddha-Bel

So I took Anabel to the Dr for her 3 month check up the other day.... any guesses as to her weight? Try 16lbs!! No kidding - 7kg! Our baby went from 7lbs to 16lbs in THREE months. But the crazy thing is that this is so normal for our family that our doctor's only comment was "she must like your milk!".

When Vettoria put on an incredible amount of weight, the Dr could hardly believe how big she had become in such a short space of time. Then, when Eadie put on 20lbs in 6 months there was alot of double checking and "Is that right?" But with Bel, the doctor didn't even flinch. She just wrote it down and we moved on to the next subject.

I know I'm bragging, but all day (even when we are out of the house ;-) she is constantly getting comments about how gorgeous she is. Every one who has held her while I conduct the music or play the piano in primary at church will agree she is such a content and happy little (big) girl. But here, I'll show you so you can see for yourself:

Told you..

Time flies.....

Tori is so excited about her fourth birthday, preparations have already began! It is three weeks away, so we printed off some invites and Tori was so excited to put them into her friends' letter boxes. This year she has chosen a Princess theme and has requested a castle cake. I've already spent hours thinking about it and how I am going to make it. It will definitely be my biggest cake project to date, so I am actually feeling quite nervous about it - but also totally excited about attempting such a big project. I'll be starting to make different fondant pieces in the next week with the hope that I wont be up until 2am the night before! I have suggested different ideas but she has her own vision of what she would like; it has to be pink and it must have glitter on the tower spires... Other than that, I have pretty much free reign. Well, ok then! Apart from that, so far we have a pinata and a location - it's at Alisha's place, which is big enough to hold all the friends and family Tori would like to invite. It's exciting to be planning a little girl's birthday rather than one for a toddler. It is bringing back ideas and memories from parties I have been to and had since I was that small. But at the same time it is new territory! Meanwhile I have a few ideas for games and decorations so I hope it will all come together on the day and that it will be exciting and memorable for her. Til then, I'll keep you posted!!

Yeah, I got it, thanks....

The girls are cracking me up lately, every day I call Juan at work just to tell him something hilarious the girls' have done or said. Today it happened just after breakfast, around 9am.
We have started a fun little game where they come to the kitchen counter and I stand on the other side of it. I'm the shop-keeper and they are the customer and I sell them a lollie-pop from our lollie jar. Today Eadie came to the counter and tried her luck with 'buying' a lollie-pop at such an early hour.
"Hello mummy", she said in her best customer voice. "I would like a lollie-pop please."
"Oh I'm sorry, it's too early so the shop isn't open yet" I said in my shop-keeper voice. Eadie was disappointed, but Vettoria was standing nearby and she then conveniently piped up with "That's ok mum, I have a key!" tilting her head to the side and smiling her sly smile. Eadie got excited again, so I said, "Oh you do do you? Yeah well, it's still too early girls", half laughing.
"Mum..." said Tori, "It's just pretend...."

Thanks Tori, I almost forgot the rules! ;-)

Hilarious Conversation

Tori and Eadie were talking at the table while playing with toys and sure enough it soon turned into an argument. I was doing the dishes and wasn't paying too much attention. Eadie suddenly came up to me and said in usual Eadie fashion, "Tori said 'no', me!" which translates into "Tori said 'no' to me!". I replied "well don't tell me, go and talk to Tori about it." She walked back to Tori and said "Tori, I'n hungry..." to which Tori replied "Don't tell me about it, go tell mummy!" Eadie then walked back to me and said again, "Mum, Tori said 'no', me 'gain!" at which point Vettoria rolled her eyes and I cracked up laughing. Classic Eadie McGreedy. :-)
